Christian Science has been my way of life since I was a very young child. It came into our family when my dad was suffering from tuberculosis of the spine. The doctor on the case could do nothing more for him and told my mother that she should prepare for my dad's funeral. Then something wonderful happened. A loving friend gave us the book Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. My dad started reading it and also got in touch with a Christian Science practitioner. He was soon healed and went back to work for many more years.
I, the youngest of five girls, was especially close to my dad. He taught me how to study the Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly, and I studied it daily. I married quite young and later enrolled our three beautiful children in the Christian Science Sunday School. My husband didn't often go with me to my branch church, but the children and I always went.
Our children were active and healthy when they were small, but a few accidents occurred. I was grateful for the spiritual truths I had learned that enabled me to help them during these experiences.
