Through Christian Science every human need can be met

Through Christian Science every human need can be met. I wish to testify to some of the many ways God's love has met my needs since my last testimony appeared in 1966.

Man is the manifestation of divine Spirit. This is one of the spiritual truths that came to me one evening when I had a headache. I had been reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and had become absorbed in what I was doing. Suddenly I felt very free; I was not aware of my body. Then I noticed that the headache was gone. Mrs. Eddy explains this phenomenon in Science and Health (p. 14): "Become conscious for a single moment that Life and intelligence are purely spiritual,—neither in nor of matter,—and the body will then utter no complaints."

I have also proved that there can be no suffering when unselfishness and wisdom guide our attempts to assist others in need. At one time, my wife and I were asked by her parents (who were quite elderly) to move near them, so we could help with their daily activities. We both felt this was a right thing to do, considering the circumstances. And even though we had to give up our jobs and sell our house and furnishings, the move was made joyously. We placed our trust in divine intelligence to meet our needs. For more than a year we assisted these loved ones. But then it became evident that their needs could be met better by others. So new care arrangements were made, and we were freed of our duties in a harmonious way.
