How the Bible helps:
Healing tensions in the home
When one thinks of the anguish that underlies today's prevalent divorces and parent-child tensions, the need for greater domestic harmony comes sharply to the fore. Home should be a haven, not a battleground—a haven of strength, inner comfort, moral support, and genuine love. Because such elements of thought are spiritual in origin and essence, the sure foundation for domestic peace and stability must be spiritual. Where can one turn for effectual help?
Consider the Bible. Its pages are rich in guidelines needed for peace in the home. The practicality of these guides becomes clear when we see and understand the divine Science underlying them. Christian Science sheds new light on the scriptural precepts because it reveals God to be divine Principle, Love, and therefore a God of law as well as comfort. Spiritual law makes moral precepts demonstrable.
The scriptural statements call for Godlike qualities that establish peace in the home and in all our relationships. When we accept them and see them in the framework of spiritual law manifesting the divine Principle, Love, we find them practical.
