Nature's lesson

JUNE McCLENEGHAN FOWLER

A song of birds is often heard
Before a ray of light;
This psalm of praise in nature's way
Foretells an ending night.

So should your life be filled with strife
(Of Adam's dream partaking),
A grateful song can end a long
And darkened night—with waking.
