Exercise your right to health!
There are various prevalent theories regarding health—what it is composed of, how it is gained, retained, and maintained, and how or why it can be lost. But many of these theories lead to confusion. How can we reach a true theory and solution?
In order to find true health, don't we have to apprehend something of the real nature of man and creation? The solution lies in attaining spiritual understanding. The Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, writes, "Health is not a condition of matter, but of Mind; nor can the material senses bear reliable testimony on the subject of health." Science and Health, p. 120.
How do we go about establishing the facts of health for the betterment of all mankind? The starting point is scientific prayer, where we recognize man as the child of God. Man's life and well-being are subject only to the conditions of God, Spirit, not to matter or to matter-based methods. We should be alert to the sometimes attractive, yet deceptive, materially-minded concepts that would separate us from practical, spiritual truth. Although presented in a most tempting manner, their promises never go beyond a state of self-deception.
