Peace movement

Christian Science is the peace movement of our day. It moves thought from the false concept of many minds involved in conflicts and strife to the recognition of but one Mind—harmonious and perfect. Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of this Science, says in its textbook, Science and Health: "With one Father, even God, the whole family of man would be brethren; and with one Mind and that God, or good, the brotherhood of man would consist of Love and Truth, and have unity of Principle and spiritual power which constitute divine Science." Science and Health, pp. 469-470.

One who claims no other Mind than the divine can recognize that destructively criticizing, blaming, and condemning persons, governments, nations, or races does not help to overcome strife and war any more than repeating rumors and conjectures does. But prayer does help. The realization of but one Mind, God, and of man as his individualized, reflected image, leads to harmony in the degree that consciousness yields to this eternal truth. Moral and spiritual strengthening is the need of the time.

We are easily tempted to believe in many minds with diverse interests, often confronting each other. On the basis of such thinking, mankind lives in fear of conflict and wars. The technological capacity of overkill increases the fear to apocalyptic dimensions, and many people are earnestly endeavoring to find a solution to avert fatal catastrophe.
