Human busyness or spiritual activity?
At times one may find himself enslaved by busyness, which robs him of peace of mind, fatigues him, fills his hours with ennui. If told that this is unnecessary, he might just protest—the work must be done, there's a duty to do it, there is no way out.
Christian Science reveals that there is a way out of weariness and drudgery. It teaches us to put our activities and thinking into proper perspective. As we replace the negative belief that there are too many demands being made on us with the spiritual realization that man, God's expression, is eternally about the Father's business, our days become joyous, filled with profitable activity. We do this as we endeavor to emulate Christ Jesus, to see our true—our spiritual—selfhood as the man of God's creating, unfettered by frustration and fatigue.
The healing Christ, Truth, is present right now to bless and guide. Jesus promised, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matt. 11:28. He consistently showed us how to do this.
