Christian Science has been the greatest blessing of my life, for it has taught me how to truly think. Words cannot express sufficiently the gratitude I feel for my changed life.

I grew up in a home where religion was very important, but the concept of God and what He is was never made clear. I wondered often, "What's it all about?" For many years I wandered down a lonely and fearful path of pain and suffering. Finally that path brought me to what I thought was the end of my life. This occurred when I had the symptoms of a heart attack.

At that time I had become acquainted with a neighbor who seemed peaceful, calm, and intelligent. I loved her attitude toward life and wanted mine to be just like hers. So when I was faced with the heart trouble, I went to her in a terrified frame of mind. She spoke to me of Christian Science and of God's tender care for me and said, quoting the Bible, "God is love" and "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear" (I John 4:8, 18). Her conviction of God's great love comforted me and calmed my fear. Soon I fell asleep and woke about half an hour later, completely free from pain.
