The Father's house is not remote

The Father's house, or kingdom of heaven, is not a large locality somewhere out in space; nor is it something dangling just beyond our reach. It is within the grasp of the present understanding of each one of us. Its spiritual comfort enfolds us at this present time and in this present place.

To mortal view, the all-encompassing presence of the Father's house is beyond comprehension. But Christ Jesus brought it to light when he said, "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you." John 14:2.

These words have a tone of certainty—certainty that came of experience and his divine origin. The Master recognized the right idea of the Father's house as being within consciousness. God's allness and perfection, goodness and wholeness, beauty and supremacy, are available now, and are reflected not only within a particular individual's true consciousness but within the real consciousness of everyone. "What you see, hear, feel, is a mode of consciousness," writes Mrs. Eddy, "and can have no other reality than the sense you entertain of it." Unity of Good, p. 8.
