FOR CHILDREN
I was once a shepherd
Some new neighbors moved in next door. They came over and asked us to help them find their dog. So my folks and I sat down and prayed. We thought about the twenty-third Psalm. It starts, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." I asked God to help me be a shepherd. So we drove around awhile but could not find the dog. So we went home and prayed more.
I thought about the poem by Mrs. Eddy that says, "Shepherd, show me how to go." Poems, p. 14. I was asking God to direct me where to go. I asked my mom to drive up the hill again. We drove up the hill again and I asked my mom to slow down. I looked under some cars. Under the second car I found the dog. We took him home to the people. They were very happy. We went home and thanked God.
