One night I had a sore throat; I asked my mother to read me the Bible Lesson [found in the Christian Science Quarterly]; then we talked about how I am a child of God. I knew that God didn't cause my sore throat; it was only error making me feel separate from God. Then we talked about a testimony that Mother had read in the Sentinel about a lady who became ill when she was many miles from home. She is a Christian Scientist and was traveling overseas with her husband. Even though they were far from home, a Christian Science practitioner was called, prayerful help was given, and the lady was healed.

That testimony helped me understand how God's love is everywhere and how nobody can be separated from Him. When I thought about this, I didn't have a sore throat anymore.

I was also healed of a bad stomachache. Mother and I repeated "the scientific statement of being" on page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and the Lord's Prayer. I was still hurting and crying when Mother asked me whose child I was. I said, "God's child." Immediately my stomach stopped hurting, and I went to bed. I love the Christian Science Sunday School because I am learning about God and how I am truly the reflection of His love.
