Recently I was reminded that regardless of how long we have been relying on God in Christian Science to meet our needs, the healing power of this Science is always new.

Some months ago there was a very familiar statement in one of our Bible Lessons from the Christian Science Quarterly (Hab. 1:13), "Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil." I had pondered this statement about God many times, but in this particular instance I felt it had a specific meaning for me. So I really listened. I thought, I always endeavor to reverse any erroneous condition or suggestion—when I recognize it—as we are taught to do in Christian Science. But when I asked myself, "Do I always?" I realized there was an area where I didn't bother. And that was the entertainment field. How often I was repulsed by what I saw and heard classed as entertainment. What's more, these observations were often the subject of heated discussion with friends.

In the past, I had made no effort to know that as God's reflection, man, I too was "of purer eyes than to behold evil." I now realized that all forms of error have to be treated alike—denounced and destroyed—and that there is just one attraction, the attraction of good. Here was food for thought.
