In my experience, Christian Science has proved to be far more than a religion that heals physical ailments. To me, it is the one way of Life that gives meaning and direction to existence. With this testimony I express gratitude for the invaluable rewards this very practical religion offers.
About nine years ago, when I was in college, I was having many personal problems, as well as having trouble with my teeth. At the time, I was majoring in psychology and taking philosophy courses. Unfortunately, despite all of this college work, along with my experience as an Army psychiatric technician, I didn't seem able to find any substantial or permanent solutions, either for my own problems or for problems I might face helping others in the future.
It was during this bleak period that I recalled my introduction to Christian Science when I was in the Army. I now took up the study of Science by way of reading Christian Science literature, including Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. (This literature was made available to me at Christian Science lectures and church services, as well as through the local public library.) Gradually I gained a sense of peace and purposefulness. Also, as I studied the Bible along with Science and Health, I began to sense something unchangeable and absolute, which appeared to be just what I needed to offset the endlessly changing psychological and philosophical theories I had been exposed to.
