Looking back? Or pressing forward?
My fall on the tennis court seemed the logical explanation for my sore foot. I limped for several days, praying for healing intermittently. One day while praying, I realized that I must refuse to look back on the accident as causative. Since God is the constant and sole cause of man's life, I rejected the godless picture that an accident could be causative.
The following day, when walking was still painful, I asked a Christian Science practitioner to pray for me. She knew that I was approaching a significant career change and alerted me not to let evil or fear halt this forward step. We both prayed to understand that God was directing and that no physical testimony had the authority to paralyze progress. I glimpsed the fact that in truth man is spiritual, never at the mercy of matter, but always under the care of omnipresent Spirit, God.
The next day I was walking normally, and in the months that followed I placed second in a tennis tournament. My career transition was marked with harmony, joy, and abundance.
