Enlarging the seed of faith

So stupendous is the healing and saving power of Truth that the slightest understanding of it, or even a willingness to lean on it, is beneficial. The people Christ Jesus healed may not have had great understanding of Truth, but they showed their Truth-leaning attitudes by turning to him for help.

Jesus spoke of the grand results of a seed of faith in God, Truth. For those who hold this "grain of mustard seed" trust in Truth, he promised "nothing shall be impossible unto you." Matt. 17:20. Wasn't he saying that no matter how undeveloped is one's understanding of God, as long as it is genuine, that is, spiritually true, it has the power of God behind it? Wasn't he saying that while the seed is not the flower, the flower is in the seed, and so with greater unfoldment the seed of faith will grow into the full demonstration of divine Principle?

Greater unfoldment of Truth and its idea comes with more constant spiritual inspiration, study, and practice—all of which result in healings of every sort along the way. Complete understanding isn't needed before proofs of God's care occur. Although I was a lifetime Christian Scientist, my study of Science sometimes went through lengthy doldrums. Then active duty aboard a destroyer in World War II prodded me into greater faith in God.
