It made good sense
One of a series of articles by young adults who have in recent years become Christian Scientists. They explain how they became interested in Christian Science, what convinced them of its utility and truth, and how its teachings have changed their lives.
To begin with, I had better tell you a little about my life before Christian Science. My family did not attend church, but I was sent to the local Protestant Sunday School "to have it in my background," my mother explained.
Sometime during my junior high school years I stopped going to Sunday School because the things taught there didn't make sense to me. Jesus was a great man, I could agree, but I could not agree that he was able to do all those "supernatural" things described in the Bible. Similarly, I felt that events in the Old Testament, such as the parting of the Red Sea, were the inventions of a superstitious people.
