On page 425 of our textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, we read: "Consciousness constructs a better body when faith in matter has been conquered. Correct material belief by spiritual understanding, and Spirit will form you anew."

For many years I had a small, hard swelling on the right side of my forehead. At one time my employer urged me, "Go to a doctor! That can become dangerous!" However, I did not go, preferring instead to rely solely on Christian Science for healing.

However, it was only two winters ago that I decided to really pray about the problem. I worked diligently on it for months. One day I realized that the hard surface of the swelling had become softer. I continued in prayer. Many weeks passed. And still I continued the prayerful metaphysical work. Finally, the entire swelling completely disappeared. There was not even the slightest trace to indicate that an inharmony of this kind had once been there.
