Invigorating the healing and saving practice through obedience
Fidelity to divine law and the scientific recognition of its redeeming effect in our lives bring healing. The measure of one's sincere obedience to God's law can be determined partly by the manner of his adherence to the outward expression of that law in human experience. It does, of course, require keen spiritual perception to clearly differentiate between those outward forms that truly do derive from a divine source and those that are merely human in origin and design.
So, it is always appropriate to ask: On what basis is a particular rule, condition, or requirement established? What is its purpose; its intent? The answers to such questions, revealed in prayer, will enable us to support righteous government as it properly endeavors to purify and elevate the quality of human life. And our allegiance will be more consistently directed toward upholding the spiritual standards such government promotes.
A unique form of divinely impelled and spiritually enlightening government is found in the Manual of The Mother Church. In addition to outlining the essential activities of The Mother Church, the duties of its officers, and the basic responsibilities of Church membership, this book of inspired By-Laws supplies effective methods and means for sharing the saving truths of divine Science with mankind.
