Overcoming temptation to sin— the promise of dominion

God is omnipotent, All-in-all, supreme Truth, Mind. He is infinite Principle governing and maintaining the spiritual universe in perfect order according to divine law. Man is God's perfect expression, manifesting His attributes. And the divine qualities are reflected in man—imaged forth as purity, spiritual power and intelligence, righteousness, integrity, joy, freedom, and so on.

Christian Science teaches this; See Science and Health 465:8-6; 475:5-22 . and this teaching rests squarely on the great lessons of the Scriptures and especially the example of Christ Jesus. As these truths are applied directly in human experience through prayer, inspired study, and proofs in healing sickness and sin, we gain the understanding and strength necessary to overcome temptation, the false, aggressive suggestions of the carnal mind.

Two lessons in the Bible illustrate different sides of the question of temptation and what may occur in human life. One lesson, an Old Testament allegory, portrays the protagonists as consigned to a lifetime of servitude, punished for failing to master suggestions to disobey God. The second account, a New Testament record, reveals a great promise of dominion when temptation to sin is met head-on and God's Word is followed explicitly.
