"Unutterably kind"
Some time ago a book was published entitled Man Kind? Cleveland Amory, Man Kind? Our Incredible War on Wildlife (New York: Harper & Row, 1974). which dealt with mankind's attitude toward the animal kingdom. The title sparked in me a broader train of thought. Are we indeed kind toward one another, toward ourselves, toward the world? Are we working to redeem mankind? In other words, how much do we love as Jesus loved?
The fact that God is Love, the divine Principle of all real being, ensures that everyone in his true selfhood always manifests the qualities of Love. Indeed man is actually the reflection of Love; and understanding this, we can expect to express and encounter kindness everywhere. Demonstrating God's love and its power in our lives is demonstrating our inherent Christliness. Actually it is divine Love asserting itself through us.
Christ Jesus expressed the divine nature to a higher degree than anyone else. We as well can reflect divine Love in this present experience. God's nature belongs to each of us as His beloved child, and nothing can change this essential nature.
