Many years ago, when I was a young girl, I became interested in Christian Science through attending a Wednesday testimony meeting with an aunt. The beautiful accounts of healing shared by the congregation that evening convinced me that Christian Science was a practical religion; one that could answer my questions about God and the Bible. Now, in obedience to the Scripture "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse" (Mai. 3:10), it is high time for me to express my gratitude for the many years of benefits that have resulted from my study of Science.

As a recent example, on the day before my husband and I were to begin Christian Science nurses training, I was suddenly afflicted with a severe headache, something that was very unusual for me. But I refused to let it prevent my embarking upon this good work; and I prayed, knowing that nothing could prevent God's perfect will for me from being done.

I attended classes the next day, but the pain became so severe that I was unable to concentrate or to pray meaningfully for myself. I got through the day with intermittent periods of slight relief as my husband prayed for me. However, by evening I was in pain all over, including the back and legs, and I could not sit or lie still. I became unable to talk coherently and seemed to be wavering on the edge of losing consciousness.
