Want to change? You can
"I wish I could change."
How often do we say this after describing something we don't like about ourselves? For example, "I know I'm sarcastic. I wish I could change," or "I know I yell at my kids. I wish I could stop."
Most of us have an "I wish I could" of some kind. It may have to do with eating too much, with taking offense too easily, or with any number of character faults. Character reformation seems like a real chore, and we often believe ourselves too weak to achieve it.
