I have found the study and practice of Christian Science to be...
I have found the study and practice of Christian Science to be wonderfully enriching. I only hope that as I live a life of gratitude, this can help others perceive the immense value of this teaching.
A number of years ago a Christian Science practitioner helped me through prayer twice during several months, when I was physically unable to carry on my duties. Finally I seemed to be out of the woods, when pain struck suddenly and seemed quite vicious. As I lay in bed, it dawned on me that I should treat the discomfort as an aggressive mental suggestion. This I did in my prayer, acknowledging Spirit's allness and the nothingness of the claim that life is in matter. Mrs. Eddy states (Science and Health, p. 124), "Adhesion, cohesion, and attraction are properties of Mind." Because pain is not a property of divine Mind, it has no authority, no classification, no identity. These and many other wonderful truths, gleaned through faithful study of the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings, illumined my consciousness. Exposed as nothing, the pain fled, and I was free. I got out of bed and resumed my duties. This lie has not returned.
For the supportive companionship of my husband over a period of years, I am thankful. I now enjoy the Christly qualities expressed by my son and daughter-in-law. We share a relationship that is both caring and fun.
