Early last year I traveled with some friends to a school in another part of the state. We were there for a state vocational seminar. Since I was sharing a room with three others, I had decided not to bring my Bible or my Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I didn't want my roommates to think I was weird and, anyway, I was sure there wouldn't be time to study Science!

Everything had fallen together easily for the trip, and I was having a terrific time. A friend and I were attending an all-day class together on Monday. The room was hot and stuffy, so when the lectures were finally over, we were so anxious to get out that we were practically jumping over chairs to get to the door.

It wasn't until I had reached the top of the escalator that I realized I'd left my purse downstairs. My friend returned to his room, and I went back to get my purse. My head was swimming with fearful thoughts. All my money and identification were in that purse. I went through every aisle and searched every nook and cranny. It was gone. The purse had been taken. I reported this to the Lost and Found and walked back to my room. My roommates told me I'd never see my purse again, that it was tough luck and I could kiss my money goodbye.
