From time to time it is well to review the blessings that have come to us from an understanding of God. My list of such blessings is long and includes protection during military service, guidance in business, and healing of physical troubles.

It is right to feel settled and in a suitable occupation. And settled thinking brings settled living. During a period of time I changed jobs anywhere from every six months to every four years. However, since 1965 I have had the same employer. While enjoying this long-term employment, my salary has more than quadrupled. My tasks for the past fifteen years have been in a field I did not know existed until I started the work. It has been a privilege to watch new employment opportunities unfold for me, my wife, our daughter, and our son.

Our individual unfoldment has been even more wonderful. While I was developing talents in highway planning and research, my wife developed talents in purchasing and management. Both of our children—trusting God's guidance and provision while in college, graduate school, and later in their chosen professional fields— have used their understanding of Christian Science as a chart to guide them and as a law to govern them.
