About a week before I was to go on vacation one time, I had a sensation of extreme lightheadedness—as though I needed to walk on tiptoes to touch my head. This feeling often made situations seem so ridiculous that I couldn't help laughing.

I recognized the need to overcome this problem, but I didn't feel I could afford to stop my work in preparation for the trip. So with every step I took I pondered this statement in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 151): "The divine Mind that made man maintains His own image and likeness." I declared and strove to realize that God was maintaining my every action and, in fact, was the source of my being. This passage from Proverbs (3:5) helped focus my prayer: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." I also made the effort to study the Bible Lessons from the Christian Science Quarterly and read copies of the Christian Science periodicals during this time.

I am grateful to say that I was absolutely free from any sensation of lightheadedness before the day of my departure.
