There is no feeling to compare with the joy that accompanies a healing in Christian Science!

One Monday, about quitting time, I fell while attempting to carry a number of steel rims over a large pile of scrap iron. While I did not have a medical diagnosis, it appeared as if I had broken a bone in my foot. As a lifelong student of Christian Science, the first thought I entertained was that man, made in God's likeness, cannot express or know anything unlike God, good. I also recognized that I was entirely capable of feeling, at that moment, the total control of omnipotent Spirit that never allows its offspring to fall or sin. I continuously claimed the perfect status of man as God's reflection as I gathered up the rims and headed for the shop.

Later that evening, en route to a talk on Christian Science at a nearby university, my foot was very painful, and I found walking nearly impossible. Then I realized I had not completely eliminated the suggestion of a broken bone from my thinking. I knew that that must be done before I could prove in some measure that man is not mortal and liable to accident and injury, but in truth is only and always immortal, intact.
