Removing an obstacle to healing
Personal sense, or the testimony of the five material senses, incorrectly identifies both good and evil as belonging to an individual.
Christian Science correctly identifies good as the very expression of God, who is good. Evil, on the other hand, is illusion—never part of God or His creation and therefore unable to interfere with God or His man.
To understand these spiritual facts of creation is essential to quick healing. Mrs. Eddy saw the danger of classifying good or evil as personal. "I earnestly advise all Christian Scientists," she wrote, "to remove from their observation or study the personal sense of any one, and not to dwell in thought upon their own or others' corporeality, either as good or evil."
