Birth—natural and safe
A parent's calm trust, free from fear and apprehension, is a vital element in harmonious childbirth. Obstetrics, as explained in Christian Science, builds such understanding trust.
A mother was experiencing great difficulty in her first childbirth. Labor had gone on for eighteen hours. To the attending physician it appeared that only recourse to surgery could achieve a successful delivery. Finally, the father was able to get in contact by telephone with a Christian Science practitioner in another state. Within moments the physician observed what was, to him, an unusual phenomenon. The baby suddenly moved into the correct position, and birth was accomplished quickly and harmoniously.
Those were the "facts" as the physician saw them.
