The purpose behind healing

How many of us ask ourselves why we want to be well?

And yet we should. Improvement in health through prayer is one of the ways we understand God and the real man more clearly on earth. Each healing in Christian Science bears witness to the truth of divine Life's allness. Happier, more productive lives evidence divine purpose being fulfilled. Jesus' humble, scientific prayer "Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven"  Matt. 6:10; says it all.

Health, in the sense of wholeness, is a quality of God, something true of Deity and all of His creation. Health is therefore an obligation—toward God and mankind. Just as it is our duty to God to express His love, intelligence, and truth (also qualities of God) in our daily affairs, so it is our duty to express His quality of health.
