I had a healing! For a long time I used a special blanket to comfort and relax me so I could go to sleep. As I got older I couldn't stay overnight at friends' houses because I thought they would laugh at me. So Mom and I prayed and read together to learn more of God and how He loves me.

Finally, I knew the blanket was only a piece of cloth and that it couldn't give me any love or comfort, because love and comfort come from God. So we threw my blanket in the garbage can. But that night I missed it—badly. Mom came into my room to help give me courage. I read hymns from the Christian Science Hymnal until I fell asleep. When I read in No. 60, where it says, "On Him rely and thou shalt see/That Christ is all in all to thee," I knew that there was nothing that could be more important to me than God— not even my blanket. I felt comforted, and I knew that God is All and that He is taking care of me right now. I did not miss my blanket after I prayed. So now I go to sleep every night without a special blanket. I am grateful that I have learned in Christian Science that I am really God's child.
