Divine comfort is at hand

When a small child is hurt or afraid, he wants the comfort of his mother's arms, the solace of being held close in the warmth of her love. Adults also are afraid or troubled at times and long for comfort. This need can always be met.

Christ Jesus said, "I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth." John 14:16, 17; Quoting this prophecy of the Master, Mrs. Eddy writes in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health, "This Comforter I understand to be Divine Science." Science and Health, p. 55; She also states, "Science is an emanation of divine Mind, and is alone able to interpret God aright." And later, "It is a divine utterance,—the Comforter which leadeth into all truth." ibid., p. 127;

This Science, the spirit of Truth, meets all our needs, caring for us in a wonderfully satisfying way. It shows us the perfection and continuity of true, spiritual being. We realize that God not only creates man perfect but also maintains his perfection. How comforting! When we truly understand and accept this truth, we know that actually there is nothing that can hurt us or cause us to feel afraid or troubled. And comprehending this, we can prove it.
