Doff 'n' Don
Come meet Doff 'n' Don, two friends of yours who probably have helped you before, though you may not have recognized them. They are ready at any time or place to come to your aid, no matter what sort or size of obstacle seems to be standing in your path.
Doffs duty is to remove something, just as a person takes off his jacket. Don's is just the opposite. His task is to put something on. They are easy to remember: Doff is off; Don is on.
All Christian Scientists are, or should be, involved in mental work, in the prayerful inner striving that brings about a spiritual transformation of thought. Some thoughts, according to the Bible, are useless, even harmful, and should be put off—in other words, we should Doff such wrong thoughts. Other thoughts come from God and are right and helpful and good, and we should put these thoughts on—we should Don them.
