One Friday morning I could not get out of bed

One Friday morning I could not get out of bed. My legs were stiff and I could not stand on them, so I crawled into the kitchen where my mother was fixing breakfast. I told her I couldn't move my legs, and she carried me back to my bed. We began to pray together.

Just that week my mother had helped me memorize a sentence from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mrs. Eddy (p. 473): "God is everywhere, and nothing apart from Him is present or has power." I had been using it every night as a bedtime prayer.

I knew that God is with me all the time and He is all-power, so I couldn't have anything but good. I was able to get out of bed and walk pretty well that day, although I wasn't completely healed. But by the next day I was back pitching for my baseball team!
