Compassion to heal
When a Roman officer sought healing for his servant, Christ Jesus did not delve into national characteristics and origins; he simply replied, "I will come and heal him." Matt 8:7;
Those familiar with this incident know also that Jesus did not have to make a journey to the servant's bedside to heal him. Spiritual healing does not necessarily require that. But it does require a sense of compassion for our fellowmen, an active love kept vital by an overwhelming awareness of God's eternal and universal love for man.
