Psalm 23 and unlimited opportunity
In this age of computers, interplanetary space travel, and missiles, the shepherding love of God is still significant. The twenty-third Psalm, loved by Christians throughout the world, expresses God's care in the metaphor of a shepherd and his flock. Although this psalm was written centuries ago, inspiration reveals its relevance in solving the problems facing mankind today. God's love for man hasn't changed; it's eternal.
The shepherd's care for his flock is complete, providing guidance, nourishment, protection, and shelter. The sheep recognize their shepherd's voice and follow him. "He maketh me to lie down in green pastures" Ps. 23:2; The shepherd leads to the grazing ground, where, having been fed, the sheep are free to rest.
It's normal and natural for our Shepherd, God, to guide us. God's love enables us to realize our unique opportunities as His idea.
