Undisturbed man

Even according to the human sense of things, most of our anxieties are needless. Few of the catalog of things that worry people during the course of a day have the least likelihood of coming about. But, scientifically speaking, nothing that threatens us with evil has a real cause—or can have a real effect. God is the only cause, and all divine effect is characterized by the goodness and perfection of God.

There is a way to more serenity. It is to identify ourselves spiritually rather than according to the definitions of mortal thought. Man, as God makes him and keeps him, is always basking in the peace of divine reality. There is nothing outside God's endless goodness to intrude on divine being and disrupt its concord.

A mortal, upset and anxious, is not the man that God created. By identifying ourselves rightly we can progressively demonstrate this fact. Each one of us has the possibility of illustrating divine reality in his or her experience. Each of us can remain undisturbed. We can find calmness wherever we are despite any unsettling or menacing "news" from the five personal senses.
