Loving children as Jesus did

Jesus and children: he healed them, loved them, and saw in them the qualities of the kingdom of God.

The Gospels record Christ Jesus' love for children in five healings: the dramatic cure of the epileptic boy, See Mark 9:17–27; the nobleman's son delivered from fever, See John 4:46–53; the restoration to life of the widow's son See Luke 7:12–15; and the daughter of Jairus, See 8:41, 42, 49–55; and the restitution of a Gentile girl to soundness of mind. See Matt. 15:22–28;

Each of these healings shows a child's urgent need quickly met by the healing action of the Christ-power. Jesus wasn't afraid to trust God's care for all, including children. He addressed the anxious parental thought immediately and confidently, setting aside the fear, unbelief, and grief that hide man's normal, spiritual state of perfect life and health. Confronted by Love's firm embrace of its creation, these unhealthy mental states were smothered, and both child and parent were set free.
