Don't be a hemisphere
Christian Science has a great message for all mankind: Each of us is already a complete expression of the Father-Mother God—indispensable to the wholeness of God's creation.
I didn't always think of myself as complete and indispensable. I used to think of myself as a half-finished idea looking around for the other half (the male half!) to complete my identity. I actually tried to live my life on the basis of what this unknown "other half" might or might not like in a wife! I placed myself in a holding pattern. Employment was just a job, rather than a career. After all, what if I developed a whole career and then it didn't fit in with his? I was even cautious about too much spiritual growth. I thought maybe I'd better wait until I found my "other half," and then we could do the growing together.
Sounds absurd, doesn't it? Well, it sounded pretty logical at the time.
