As a grateful student of Christian Science for many years, I have witnessed the curative power of this Science in the healings of deafness in one ear, a goiter, colds, and many other discordant conditions. The healings of deafness and goiter came solely through my desire to spiritualize thought through study of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. No specific prayer was applied to these problems—they just left me as I continued to study Science and Health.

Truths from this book and the Bible lifted me above grief and loss at the time of my husband's passing. I found comfort in realizing I had not lost any of the beautiful qualities he had expressed, for they were truly derived from God and therefore permanent.

Once I was called to help care for a close relative who was not a Scientist and was under a doctor's care. (I did not attempt to give her Christian Science treatment at this time but prayed to keep my own thought free by pondering Psalm 121 and acknowledging that God sustains all of His ideas.) After a few days, symptoms developed that caused the doctor to order her immediate removal to a hospital. After giving her an extensive examination the doctor stated her physical condition had so deteriorated that she had only four or five days to live.
