When Christian Science found me I was living in a basement...
When Christian Science found me I was living in a basement apartment, barely able to walk because of torn ligaments in my back. After a year of constant pain, my face had become severely wrinkled. I felt very bitter.
I mentioned an interest in this Science to a neighbor, who borrowed a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy from a Christian Science Reading Room. For two weeks I read the book constantly. I didn't understand much, but when I saw this sentence (p. 1), "The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God,—a spiritual understanding of Him, an unselfed love," I knew I had found what I was searching for.
I started to town to buy the book. Suddenly it felt as if chains had fallen from my back. The pain was gone; I could walk normally again. The healing of the back condition has been permanent. The facial wrinkles also disappeared and never returned.
