To find ourselves suddenly fired, phased out, laid off, after years of service in one job can be nightmarish, quite a blow to our pride and self-respect.
Even though the jobless picture for veteran workers may seem grim, and we're outraged at being regarded as obsolete somewhere between the ages of thirty-five and sixty-five, it is no time to be overwhelmed by despondency or disillusionment. Such a predicament can be turned into a golden opportunity—and the sooner the better! Any delay in turning to the spiritual facts of being and seeing how they apply to our present situation only plunges us deeper into despair and into a desperate search for a quick material solution.
