A number of years ago I was involved in the initial stages of my present business, which was then owned by another person. Remuneration was low and unjustly so, because of the extreme frugality of the owner. At that time my future there was not very bright.
I had been interested in Christian Science for a number of years but did not study regularly. My need for help in the business situation encouraged me to turn to Christian Science and read the Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly every day. In due time, I became a member of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and The Mother Church, and became active in my branch church.
During this period I had to learn patience. Because there was so little improvement in the business situation, I had to practice Paul's teaching (I Cor. 15:58), "Be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."
