Crossing the Red Sea
This is a story from the Bible about how God helped some people called the children of Israel. They lived many years ago in the land of Egypt, which was not their real home.
God gave a man named Moses the job of taking care of these children of Israel. They were not all children. Some were mothers and fathers, some were aunts and uncles, some were grandmothers and grandfathers, and some were just babies. But the Bible calls them children because they were all part of the family of a man called Israel, who lived many years before. Moses was one of the children of Israel, too.
They had come to Egypt to find food, and the Egyptians had made them slaves. The children of Israel didn't want to be slaves. They wanted to be free.
