"... armor ... out of style?"
Protection
Do you think that armor went out of style after King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table? Perhaps coats of mail did, but not the type of armor the Scriptures recommend. Paul wrote to the Christians at Ephesus telling them to "put on the whole armour of God."Eph. 6:11; Then he described this armor in terms of qualities such as truth, integrity, righteousness, and faith. That's the type of armor you and I must wear today.
Shielded by such divine protection, we become conscious of our unity with God, listen carefully for His Word, and then follow safely where He leads.
Clad with spiritual armor, we can confidently challenge any fear that would challenge us. We can cause fear to self-destruct by refuting its existence, by questioning "Where did you come from? What's your source? Who gives you power? Knowledge? Identity?"—and then answering with the understanding and conviction of God's allness.
