Whenever I read the beautiful testimonies of Christian Science healing, I am reminded of my early healing. I was traveling in the state of Texas, and the first week there I spent in a medical clinic for observation. Fortunately I was confronted in nearly every hotel with the distribution boxes of free Christian Science literature. The more I read of Christian Science and its healings, the more eager I became to find out what these people knew that I did not know. I have been learning ever since, and what a happy revelation!

One day in Waco I had a serious stomach spasm, or possibly a gall bladder attack. I was guided to the Christian Science Reading Room for help rather than to material medicine. In the Reading Room I immediately purchased a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The attendants were most courteous and helpful, and they referred me to Christian Science practitioners nearby, one of whom I telephoned. She was most gracious and sincere, and prayed with me for the balance of the day for my healing. I have often recalled this to memory, in gratitude, for the healing was quick and sure.

I have had other healings. Business and personal problems have been solved. Drinking and smoking were completely erased from my life. Sinus attacks, which were dreadful and of many years standing, no longer afflict me. Whenever this latter healing comes to mind, I repeat silently, "What chased the clouds away?"
