A shining star
What if the little star had said,
"I am too dim, too far away
To ever reach the planet Earth.
I will not shine my light today"?
Across the light-years and the miles,
How would the Magi see
To find their way to Bethlehem—
To where the child would be?
But like the little star that shone,
Showing earth its special light,
Let understanding ever shine—
A beacon through the darkest night.
Without your love reflecting Love,
How can the poor world find
The light of Christ—the shining star—
The hope of all mankind?
