Why Count Years?

Do we have to accept Shakespeare's parody on old age: "Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything"? As You Like It, Act II, scene 7;

As we learn and live the spiritual truth of God as Spirit, and man as made in Spirit's image, we can, at least in good measure, prove the falsity of such a picture.

What if someone should say, "Years are no part of God's divine plan for man"? Surely, we would want to know more about this plan.
