In the year 1908 Christian Science was made known to me by a stranger, who directed me to a Christian Science Reading Room to get a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.

My next step was to release my interest in material medicine, as I was not receiving the help anticipated. Following this progressive step toward knowing myself as a spiritual idea, I visited a Christian Science practitioner for treatment. With the prayer of the practitioner I was healed of symptoms of semi-invalidism and a fallen uterus. "Thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place" (II Cor. 2:14).

Let me say, with gratitude, that my youthful indifference to church activity was mastered through my faithful study of the Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly. This study enabled me to become a member of The Mother Church in Boston, Massachusetts, and of one of its branch churches; later, to have class instruction and then to help others.
