I first heard something about Christian Science several years ago. The articles that I read in The Herald of Christian Science, German Edition, showed me clearly my thoughts had already been tending in this direction, and I knew that now Christian Science was to become my way of life.

I then attended a Christian Science Sunday School until I was twenty. My life changed through Christian Science. I gained more self-confidence, exercised more patience, and often saw how this truth (Science and Health, p. 17), "And Love is reflected in love," works in daily life. [This line from Mrs. Eddy's interpretation of the Lord's Prayer follows Christ Jesus' words, "And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors."]

Some time ago I again had an opportunity to hold fast to the truth and to demonstrate perfection and invulnerability. While I was performing a chemical analysis in the laboratory, some acid splashed out of a flask onto my face. Immediately I knew that nothing hurtful had happened; I reflect God, Life. And as I washed my face with water, I thanked God for His ever-presence.
